Lesson 1 - Staff and Note Lesson
Here is the place to practice note names on a musical staff.  First, I want you to go through the "Staff and Note Lesson"  in the "Lessons" pull-down menu by clicking in the link below.  After you finish the lesson, click on the back button on your browser to come back to this page for the next activity.  Click on this link now:

Lesson 2 - Note Name Practice
Now you are ready for the practice session.  Once you click on the link below, do the following:
1. Click on the "Settings" button on the right side of the window.

2. If the staff for your instrument is greyed out, click on the clef sign to make it
black. If any other clefs are black, click on them to make them gray.  The clef
for your instrument should be the only one that is black.  The rest of the clefs
    should be gray.

3. Click on the "Settings" button again to start your practice session.

4. Click on the correct letter at the bottom of the window that names the note on
    the staff.

5. Click the "New Note" button for another chance.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 at least twenty times to practice your note names.  You will
notice that the program keeps track of how many are correct and incorrect and it
shows your score.  If you are having difficulty at first with naming the notes,
click on the "Toggle Helpers" button to show the letter names of the lines and
spaces on the staff.  Do this for only a few times and make yourself name the
notes without the "Toggle Helpers" as much as possible.

7.  When finished, print the page on your printer and turn that sheet in at your next
band class.  I don't mind if you keep practicing until you get your best score.
