1. Staff and Clef       Recognition of clef and definition of letter         name position for assigned instrument

2. Staff Lines and Spaces       note recognition of all lines and spaces on         staff of student’s instrument

3. Ledger Lines       Identification and definition

4. Note Trainer Instructions       Grasp of how to set up clef, toggle helpers,         new notes and resetting notes.

5. Note Trainer Results       For 20 entries at a time

6. Final Note Recognition Test      Written Evaluation

Parents and Band Students: A rubric is a document that spells out a step by step process for mastering a particular skill.  The rubric above will be used to track your child's learning progress with recognizing note names on the staff for their instrument.  Instructions for pracitcing the skills contained in this rubric can be found on the "Band Curriculum Page".  You may go to that page by clicking here. The goal for your child is to achieve at lest 90% accuracy with each skill step before moving to the next.  Once step 6 is complete with 90% accuracy, he/she may move on to the next level rubric when available.  Level 2 - "Note Duration Lesson" is currently under construction..
